Birthday in Paris

We were trying to figure out something cool to do for Ryan's birthday ...after perusing Skyscanner we found a relatively cheap flight to Paris... so that's where we went! 

Unfortunately, since this was a pretty spontaneous trip we had very slim pickings when it came to Airbnbs... what made matters worse was that we were landing quite late at 23:00... so we put a request in for a place and hoped they would accept some time during our flight. They didn't. So as we sat at the airport we had to find a new place to stay. Spontaneity doesn't work well on a backpacker budget in Paris! We found a relatively decent priced hotel and booked. We would have booked a hostel but they were located in less desirable areas that we weren't interested in. Since it was so late the bus that takes you from the airport to the train station was no longer running so we had to get an Uber..... our drive was nice but the fixed rate of 45 euros wasn't =(. But alas, we made it to our super comfy hotel and got some sleep.

The next day we walked around what felt like ALL of Paris... we walked for about 8 hours. Needless to say... our feet hurt. I created a little video slide show... only because I wanted something different.

We decided instead of celebrating Ryan's birthday on the 10th we would celebrate on the 12th and 13th by going to Disneyland Paris!! We are so totally excited and can't wait. Ryan originally wanted to go back to Poznan and go to the aquapark..... I had to find an alternative, which ultimately led us to Paris after we found it was one of the cheaper flight options out of Krakow. So now we're sitting in this cute little Airbnb with the most accommodating and friendly hosts ever! Tomorrow we will head out early to get a good jump on Disney Paris.

Side note: Today we took a minute to talk about what we remembered about the day of 9/11. We will never forget.
