You may have noticed my lack of blog posting.... sorry for that... but we've 'settled down' in Germany!
After 5 weeks of working our 'tourist job' with non-stop movement from city-to-city and country-to-country we needed a 'vacation' from our vacation! Don't get me wrong... we love checking out new places and walking through different cities but we were definitely getting a little burnt out from the same ole sight seeing different city scene. We were always going to spend a decent amount of time in Germany since we planned on going to Oktoberfest and visiting Marcel... but since we nixed the Oktoberfest idea (due to cost and lack of planning on our part) we have been living like a local with Marcel in Frankfurt, Germany. Living like a local in Germany has been pretty awesome and we definitely feel like if we ever wanted to live abroad it would be in Germany. Our day usually entails sleeping in.... eating brunch.... grocery shopping (for dinner)... and a little bit of walking around. If Marcel gets invited somewhere after work we usually tag along with him which usually entails beer and soccer. This last weekend we did a 'pub crawl'....super fun night.. we didn't get to bed until 7am! I only have a few pictures from the night....

On the weekends we have been driving up to Marcel's parents house in Nottuln (near Munster) .... these trips have consisted of bike rides and family time. We love coming here.
I apologize for the serious lack of pictures from our time here... but here are a few.

Comedy night. Luckily it was in English! |
We are heading to Amsterdam TODAY! We were originally going to head to there at the beginning of the week...we actually already purchased our bus ticket but after a night of drinking and some Airbnb rejections we canceled our bus trip and decided to head back to Frankfurt with Marcel to regroup and come up with a plan. This was kind of lucky since we had our departure date wrong and would have spent close to two weeks in Amsterdam.... which now we think would have been fun (but not on our budget). I wasn't expecting Amsterdam to be as expensive as it is.... we kept getting rejected from Airbnb for all the cheaper places and for some reason a vast majority of hostels were booked or exorbitantly expensive ...we opted for a hotel on the edge of the city for a 'reasonable' price. Reasonable in the sense that it's only 85% of our daily budget =/ . Marcel is heading to the Netherlands on a trip with some of his friends so he said he'd drop us off on his way ... SWEET! =)
Anyways, we've really enjoyed our time in Germany but now it's time to get back to our tourist job and do work! See you in Amsterdam!
