All roads lead to Rome

Sorry for the late post... I was waiting for the millions of photos we took to upload, but then I fell asleep. I'll keep this one short.


Our morning started super early because we wanted to get to the Vatican before the worse of the lines. But before we could head our we started our laundry...

Our airbnb was only a room so we didn't have access to a washer, so this is how we did laundry. We had a croissant for breakfast that we purchased at the grocery store and headed to the Vatican.

There was a decent sized line forming since they weren't open yet so we jumped in line in the back .... trying with all our might to get the stinking sales dudes to stop trying to sell us "front of line tickets with tour". When we were waiting another sales dude came up to us, pointing at my shoulders and knees saying "Not aloud!" ...trying to sell us a scarf thing. We denied but he kept pointing saying "Not aloud!" This had us a little worried since we didn't know there was a dress code. We did a quick google search and sure enough it said there was a dress code. BOO! I was wearing a sun dress .... so we decided to be safe rather than sorry and head back to change.

Both Ryan and I decided to just wear jeans and a T-shirt, but Ryan was having a little trouble keeping his pants up, so I helped him out....

He thought this was the most genius idea ever... I think I got the idea from pinterest about pregnant people and pants..idk.

After we changed we headed BACK to the Vatican and found a huge line... of course.

We are SO glad we didn't come back at 2pm when the guide book suggested... because after noon we would be been pelted by the sun instead of shade. This line took us an hour and forty minutes to get through.... we could have purchased tickets online but it  would have been for later in the day and we were being impatient. Once we got inside obviously I took a bunch of pictures.... so I'm going to throw a few out here for you.

We walked around the Vatican for about 2 hours.... there was so much to look at. I couldn't take pictures of everything or else we'd still be there. Lol.

This morning we caught a train to Naples... we just checked in to our Airbnb and now we are about to head out and eat some pizza! We're not sure what we are going to do tomorrow.... probably Pompeii.
